Seems many are mourning the quick passing of the snow due to last night’s thunderstorm, here in my little midwest community. But face it, folks, there really wasn’t that much to begin with!

There was a social media frenzy when the first snow of the season fell earlier this month, it almost seemed akin to the barrage of posts that appeared last year with the #snowmageddon tag. But the difference, this time, is that it was barely a couple of inches! Are we really so devoid of imagination that we have to build up 2″ of snow into some kind of insurmountable obstacle? We live in the midwest, we know it’s going to snow, yet we – as a community – complain unendingly. I’m fairly sure that I only had to get my snow shovel out twice, and didn’t even bother trekking to the shed to haul out the snowblower. Not worth it.

How about we just be happy with what we have, and thank our lucky stars we didn’t get 18 feet of snow like they did in Alaska?

Rooftop sledding, anyone?
