Photo by Billy Alexander It’s the day after pay day, so I can breathe for a while. I’m still struggling, of course, with the decision I must make. The latest email from my (potential) credit counselor suggests that I contact an attorney. In other words, “there is no hope.” But for now. I have money in [...] I really appreciate all my friends who have been throwing me landlines – there’s a lot of good information out there! I also apologize to those who expressed that I was trying to pull on people’s heartstrings. That is certainly not the intention of this soul-baring experience. I am in a situation that I’m sure a [...] Post 104! I think my 100th post just whizzed by without so much as a blink! For those following my financial woes, I had my first appointment with the credit counselor today. Was it an omen that they lost power 30 seconds before I showed up for my appointment? Probably. I had completed the preliminary paperwork, which [...] I felt the need to go grocery shopping again today. Donating groceries felt so good that I needed to donate more! Today’s shopping coup netted $159.37 worth of goodies for just $24.36 (and I still have $15 in catalinas to spend on my next shopping trip). Here’s what I came home with: 6 jars of Hellman’s mayo It’s been just a couple of weeks since I cut up the credit cards, and I’m looking forward to my debt-free future with renewed enthusiasm! Yes, it was hard. I wanted to convince myself that I could keep one card in a draw somewhere because I would surely have a future emergency that necessitated the [...] It didn’t come at the beginning of the year, this feeling. At least not at the start of the calendar year. This little mini-phenomenon, I believe, came at the start of the Chinese New Year. So, is it a coincidence that this is the Year of the Ox, and my chinese astrological sign is the ox? [...] |
