It’s been another one of those busy weeks. We took off to Peoria today to buy a freezer. We do have a freezer, but I think you could store half a dozen dead bodies in it. It’s huge. And it’s taking up about half of our breakfast room. I’d really have loved to keep the monster – would have loved to get it down into the basement, but it was way too big and the basement door was not positioned correctly to enable free passage. So, instead of this 23 cu ft monster, I opted for a much more managable 5.2 cu ft version that can either go in the basement, or will be less of a space hog in the breakfast room.
On Wednesday we head off to Chicago. By train. The only reservation I have is making it to Union Station in time for the train home on Friday morning. We will stay at a hotel very close to American Girl, and will probaby spend Wednesday afternoon/early evening there. On Thursday, we will go either to the Shedd Aquarium or to the Field Museum. The girls still need to make a decision on that one.
Tomorrow and Tuesday are going to be REALLY busy for me as I try to get everything finished before leaving for our little vacation.
So, gardening “season” is almost upon us! We just have one plot at the community garden this year, but that’s fine, we gave the other one up to Ms Evelyn. It couldn’t have gone to a better person!
This week has been a really good one for reconnecting with friends. Facebook was the venue of choice, and I was able to get back in touch with Sister Agnes, Noelani Netzler, Owen Talauta and more that I can’t even remember. I love catching up with “old” friends, and every day I’m thankful for the internet for allowing me to do that.
Right now though, I must sleep …. after I apologize to my Ma for not calling her today.
